Wireless networking

Most households have a printer and virtually all offices have some sort of printer, if not a multi-purpose machines that scans, copies and faxes as well. In recent years, major manufacturers have found a way to make printing easier- by going wireless. According to howstuffworks.com, wireless printing is relatively simple to set up, and a real asset to have, especially in a work environment. In addition to a wireless printer that does not have wires linking it to computers, routers and outlets, networking capabilities give everyone in the office the opportunity to print freely from the same universal machine.

Networking is super important to the growth and development of any office. Years ago, before this kind of technology became so standard in work environments, each cubicle would have its own small printer. The machines were old, loud and took up space that could have been used for better things. With networking, the guy across the office from you can just as easily print as you can. Newer machines are quiet and fast also, keeping a work environment just that.

Another way to save room at an office is to purchase multi-function printers that are wireless and offer built-in networking. These kinds of machines can be used like a regular wireless printer, but also can serve the purpose of a scanner, and copy machine, and occasionally a fax machine if necessary. Though, this day and age, scanning and emailing have virtually voided the need for fax machines.

Wireless printing and networking were designed to make printing simpler, but it is still important to know how it works. There are sites, such as the link in the first paragraph, that can provide a brief explanation into the way wireless works and the many perks to it and to having a network.
